Life: Meet Bruno

So (I start so many sentences that way and really bug myself by doing so, but I just can't think of anything else...) something kind of crazy happened at the weekend.

My parents only went and got another dog. A Flat-Coated Retriever, named Bruno.

 Flat-Coated Retriever

Yup, that's him.

If you're familiar round these parts, or follow me on the ol' socials, you probably know that not too long ago (May actually) we brought home our first pup, Max. A Golden Retriever.

If you not, take a gander at this blog post.

We absolutely adore Max. He was the missing piece that we didn't know was missing from our family (sad but true.)

Max has managed to convince me, the girl who was petrified of dogs, that dogs are pretty darn awesome! Now that is a mighty achievement, let me tell you.

Recently however, we'd been thinking about perhaps getting a second dog.

We have so much love for Max, and Max loves dogs (and humans, and anything with a pulse) we thought it might be a nice idea to give a second pup a home.

So, last Thursday night, we had a family chat over dinner where we discussed if we all wanted another dog.

The next thing I know I'm the car on Sunday driving to Somerset to go get Bruno.

I think this definitely wins for most impulsive purchase ever, right?

I mean we got a dog in less time than it took Craig David to bed a woman.

It's also something I totally don't condone doing, if you're thinking of getting a dog you should always look into the breed, check you have the capabilities to look after it, and basically all the general information that can be found here.

Sensible Sally part over, back to Bruno.

Bruno was born on the 16th June so is 12 weeks now.

Unlike Max who was kept in the breeders house (yes, we compare him a lot to Max, which means for the poor champ has a lot to live up to) Bruno was kept in an outhouse with all of his siblings, which means he is far from house trained.

He's also a lot more 'needy' than Max. He doesn't like it when he thinks no-one is around, and whenever we take Max out (someone is always with him) you can tell he misses him so much, he's always looking for him.

His sleeping is pretty good, he goes through most of the night, and sleeps with my parents in their room, much like Max does.

Max is adjusting well to having a friend. We wanted to get a puppy whilst Max was still a puppy himself so that they could both grow up together, and you can tell Max loves him. Even if they do spend a lot of time together play fighting.

I don't really have that much to say, except he's settling in well and to show you how cute he is! Also, if Max got his own post, then surely I just had to do the same to Bruno.

I'm sure there will be more posts about the pups soon, 'cause let's face it, who doesn't love dog pictures?
