Musings: The Greatest People You Will Ever Meet

Last weekend, I ended up making a trip to meet some pretty darn cool people.

These people, I'd met from the Internet (gasp!), from having this blog and it's corresponding social channels. They're (just a few of) the people who have given me words of encouragement, a kick up the bum and just been genuinely supportive in a way I never would've thought could've happened when I first started doing all this.

When I got home my mom asked me 'so what did you actually do?' and 'would you meet them again?'

The answer to the first question was pretty simple. We ate, drank, talked and did some dancing (yaasss to clubs opening at 5, suits my granny self down to the ground!) and it was great.

The answer to the second question was, yes! (If they'll have be back obvs.) Because it was really nice to just talk to people who 'get' this whole weight loss malarkey. Who get that it's not just about losing weight, that there is a multitude of reasons why you want to lose weight, how losing weight can affect you and what happens after you have lost weight. That get that it's really bloomin' tough, and that often you can feel like you're going to spend the rest of your life counting numbers and obsessing over every bit you eat.

It's nice knowing that other people struggle in the same way you do, and it's interesting to listen to how others cope with these things. It was so much better than any 'meeting' I've stayed to and left me feeling extremely happy.

So Allie, Gem, Jo, Ash, Jay, Chips and Em, thank you for inviting me and welcoming me into your group.

However, I don't want this post to be just about last Saturday, but about the online community in general.

I have found so many amazing people through this blog, who are their continuously with support and encouragement. It amazes me just how many people go 'yeah, I totally get that.'

Who have also felt like throwing the scales out the window, have cried into chocolate, have felt the amazing rush of a nsv victory and just get all the ups and downs weight loss throws at you. Along with all the hard work it takes to get where you want to go!

The reason I'm so attached to my phone, is because I know that there is a community of people ready to help me out at any moment in time, and to be honest, I think that's really fudgin' awesome!

So if you're reading this blog, thinking, I want to start my own Instagram/Blog/Twitter then please, just do it! I promise, you won't regret it - as there are some pretty awesome people out there.

p.s. I really want to do shout outs to the other amazing people I've met online, but honestly, it would fill up a blog post and I live in fear of missing people out. So if you want to see who I love, just check out my 'following' lists!

p.p.s 10 House Points to the people that gets the reference in the blog title!

p.p.p.s Sorry if this post is a load of rubbish, I can't quite figure out the right words to say but want to put it live!
